Historical buildings

Catedral de Mallorca

1- Cathedral. 1- Palma’s Santa María Cathedral, known as La Seu, is a Levantine Gothic style temple that was built on the shores of the bay during the years 1229-1346. In 1931, it was declared a historical-artistic monument. It is also the cathedral with the largest rose window in the Gothic world.

2- Bellver Castle This Mallorcan Gothic style castle was built at the start of the 14th century, by order of King Jaime II of Mallorca. It is situated on a hill 112 metres above sea level, in an area surrounded by forest, where you can enjoy a view over the city, the port, the Tramuntana mountains… In fact, its name comes from the old Catalan bell veer, meaning “beautiful view”.

3- Almudaina Palace. This is the Royal Palace or Fortress of the city of Palma de Mallorca and one of the residences of the Spanish Royal Family, managed by the Spanish National Trust. Its walls tell the history of the islands since the megalithic settlements. It is currently used during the summer for His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Bourbon as an official residence for ceremonies and receptions.

Baulard Museum. Museum of Contemporary Art of Palma de Mallorca, with works by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Miquel Barceló, and many other artists.
